Meet Speed Bump – a survivor with a gentle soul. ?
Speed Bump got her name from a tragic start: she was hit by a car and left for dead. Thankfully, we found her just in time. She underwent FHO surgery (femoral head ostectomy), a procedure that removes part of the hip joint to help relieve pain and allow better movement. Because of this, she now walks with a permanent limp and is a little stiff—but that doesn’t stop her! She still gets around just fine, jumping up and down the cat trees and spending her days doing her favorite thing: gazing out the window and watching the world go by.
Now, let’s talk about who Speed Bump is—and who she’s not.
Speed Bump is a sweet, quiet, and deeply gentle girl, but she’s been through a lot. She’s not the kind of cat who will come running the moment you walk through the door. If you’re looking for a lap cat who wants constant affection, she may not be the one. But if you believe in second chances and have a heart big enough to give a shy, traumatized girl the time and patience she needs—Speed Bump just might be the cat who needs you most.
She is incredibly docile, and would never lash out or cause harm. She’s just still learning that humans can be kind and safe. When she does open up, her sweetness will absolutely melt your heart.
We know Speed Bump is easy to overlook. But we see her. And we believe someone out there will too.

Welcome your new pet home! We will help coordinate pickup or transport to ensure your furry friend arrives home safely.

Out-of-State Adoptions: We happily work with adopters across the continental U.S. Transport options can be discussed during the home visit.
Adoption Fees: Fees help cover veterinary care, vaccinations, spay/neuter, and other essential needs to ensure your pet is happy and healthy. Your pet will come home spay/neutered, microchipped, FIV/FeLV tested, dewormed, vaccinated, and will have all medical needs addressed prior to adoption.
Trial Period: We offer a two-week trial period for local adopters to ensure the adoption is the right fit for you and your new pet.
Post-Adoption Support:
Our team is here to help with any questions or concerns after adoption to ensure a smooth transition. We’re committed for life—if at any point you can no longer care for your pet or if unforeseen circumstances arise, KPA will always take back any animal adopted through our organization. We’re here to ensure they’re safe and loved forever.
