This is Buddy Roe — our family’s gentle, loving mixed-breed boy who has brought so much comfort and joy into my grandmother’s life.
Buddy’s story has always been about second chances. We first got him from a family friend who wasn’t able to care for him anymore. Around the same time, my grandmother had just lost her previous dog to old age — a heartbreak that left her home feeling quiet and empty. Bringing Buddy Roe into her life felt like the perfect match. He filled her days with warmth, companionship, and the kind of unconditional love only a dog can give.
But now, with her health declining, she’s no longer able to keep up with his needs. It’s been incredibly hard for her, and for all of us, but we know the most loving thing we can do is find Buddy Roe a home where he can stay happy, active, and well cared for.
