My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Talladega was brought in by our Humane Law Enforcement team on September 21, 2025.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Talladega - the sweet girl who's ready to race her way into your heart! She may start out in the slow lane, a little shy as she sizes up new friends, but with some treats and just a little patience, she'll quickly shift gears and show you her sweet side. Talladega is looking to be your only pup in the home, as she prefers her own space when it comes to other dogs, and she is looking for a home without young kiddos. With human friends, once she gets familiar with you, she is all wiggles and wags! She's ready to put the pedal to the cuddle. If you're looking for a loyal co-pilot to cruise through life with, she just might just be the one! Come in and ask about adopting her today!

At SDHS:
Talladega has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. Talladega is now ready for her new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
