My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Hawk and Zoomer! Hawk and Zoomer are looking for an adopter (or rescue) to help them leave the shelter, fast! They came to us under strange circumstances, but we were able to reach their previous owners and were able to get a bit more history about these boys. They have been unfortunately failed time and time again, as they even were adopted originally from a rescue who doesn't handle dogs anymore so they will not take them back. The boys are 4 years old, and Zoomer is mostly blind (he does appear to see shapes or shadows), and Hawk has normal vision. Zoomer has always been blind per the previous owner and rescue. These boys would be fine with medium-large dogs and are great with kids, BUT they should not go to a home with cats, or other small animals (I would say small dogs as well). They are housetrained and keep their kennels clean here too! They are very much Huskies, so would benefit from a home with breed experience and the ability to handle the boys together. We would consider separating but would ideally keep them together if at all possible, as it appears that Zoomer especially depends on Hawk. Their adoption fees are FREE!!! and they are neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and heartworm negative. Please call 630-553-9256 or email animalcontrol@Kendallcountyil.gov if you have any questions or stop by the shelter during normal open hours to meet them!

More about this shelter

Kendall County Animal Control is the county agency responsible for enforcement of the state statutes governing rabies control in domestic companion animals. The State of Illinois requires that all dogs are vaccinated against rabies by a licensed veterinarian. Compliance with this law is monitored through the issuance of rabies tags for all dogs residing in the county. All dogs are required to wear their rabies tags when off of the owner's property. If a pet is lost, rabies tags also provide an excellent means of identifying your pet.

Kendall County Animal Control also enforces the county's ordinance that prohibits dogs from running at large in unincorporated residential subdivisions, investigates reports of animal bites, and will pick up contained stray dogs in unincorporated Kendall County during operating hours. Stray and owner released cats and dogs may also be brought to the facility during business hours. Cats and dogs are available for adoption at the facility.
