My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I'm Zelda! I'm a young cat who loves a quiet corner where I can watch the world go by. I might be a bit shy at first, but give me a little time and I'll be cuddling up beside you, purring softly. I'm very gentle and friendly, and I adore being petted and pampered. My mellow nature makes me the perfect companion for cozy evenings. If you're looking for a sweet, loving friend to share your life with, I promise to fill your days with warmth and affection. Why not take me home?

More about this shelter

Founded in 1971 as the Animal Aid Society of Englewood, Suncoast Humane Society began with a few cages where people left stray animals to be cared for. Over the years, our service area has grown to include over 400 square miles, covering three counties: Sarasota, Charlotte and portions of Lee.
Suncoast Humane Society provides a safe refuge for thousands of lost, abandoned and abused animals from our service area each year. We are committed to our open-door policy of never turning any animal away, regardless of health, temperament, breed or circumstances.
