My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

When we first saw Bonnie, a 5-6 year-old Boxer, she was lying quietly in her county shelter kennel. Her breathing was labored, but even through the struggle, she lifted her eyes to meet ours. In that look was a quiet desperation, a plea not to be forgotten. We rushed her to the ER, where she spent days fighting pneumonia—and winning.

Today, Bonnie has blossomed into a joyful, affectionate companion. She makes us laugh with her goofy ways and charms everyone with her soulful, beautiful face. Like many aging pups, she does have arthritis that slows her down at times, but with medication she’s comfortable—and her zest for life shines through every single day.

No senior dog should ever be left behind in a shelter. Bonnie has too much love, too much heart, to spend her final years without a family of her own. She deserves a home where she can rest her head knowing she is safe, wanted, and deeply loved.

If your heart is open to giving Bonnie the forever home she so deserves, please fill out an adoption application at skysanctuaryrescue.org/applications.

She’s ready to give you all the love she’s been waiting to share.

Additional adoption info

Adoption fees vary between $165-$350. That includes all medical vetting, UTD vaccines, spay/neuter, lifetime microchip, an escape proof harness lead and collar & tag. Also, since some our dogs are such a huge flight risk, there may be additional steps needing to happen before the adoption is completed.

More about this rescue

We are a small group of passionate animal advocates that specialize in the humane capture and rescue of stray, fearful and injured animals from the streets of Maricopa County. We also assist pet owners as well as other rescue groups to recover their lost animals. We provide our dogs with a safe place to decompress, learn to trust and receive medical treatment until they are ready to find a forever home. The dogs that we take in are typically more difficult to place due to being fearful and high flight risks. Our animals require special adopters who are patient, diligent and very precautionary in order to keep our "trap dogs" safe. These animals are our passion and we will always do what is best for every animal that crosses our path.
