Whisk is a sweet, shy domestic shorthair that came into our care in critical condition in August 2025. She came in with her mama and 3 siblings. While on the streets, Whisk and her pack caught a severe stomach bug. When intaken by VAC, they were struggling and their lives were at risk.
Treatment was lengthy and intense but she and her family are healed, doing so much better! Because of the intensive treatment and traumatic street life, Whisk is very shy and can come off as antisocial. We promise that underneath the shy shell, she is just a sweet, affectionate girl in need of a patient, loving home.
She will need time, patience and a calm home where she can decompress on her own terms.

Valley Animal Center houses thousands of dogs and cats annually until they are placed in loving homes. Majority of our shelter animals are rescued from local animal control agencies who have no more space for their animals. Even animals who have been abused, mistreated, abandoned, and injured are cared for and nurtured until a loving home is ready to adopt them.
We are easily accessible to the residents of the entire six-county region it serves. Even individuals from out of the area and out of state have come to Valley Animal Center to adopt animals from us and utilize our clinic services.
Our mission is to unite dogs and cat with loving people but it does not simply end at the adoption process. With our low-cost clinic, a membership-based dog park, and humane education resources found on our website, we want to ensure our community has easy access to resources that will help them along in their pet ownership journey.
