My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Smokey!

Smokey is a 4-month-old Domestic Shorthair who came to us after his family lost their home in a house fire. He arrived with his siblings and has been such a brave, loving little guy through it all.

Playful & Affectionate
Smokey is sweet, social, and full of kitten energy! He loves to play, explore, and snuggle up once playtime’s over. He’d be a great fit for a home with other friendly cats.

Healthy & Ready
He’s up-to-date on vaccines, tested negative, and ready to find a forever home filled with love and safety.

Smokey may have come from tough times, but his future is bright—come meet this resilient sweetheart and see how he’ll melt your heart!

More about this rescue

The Homeless Pets Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded in 1998 by Dr. Michael Good, an Atlanta veterinarian who saw a need to create an organization that could assist animal shelters and pet owners in need. In the Atlanta area alone, there are more than 100,000 animals destroyed each year for lack of a home. The Foundation provides critical medical care, food, foster care and comfort to these homeless animals.
