Considering adopting? The first step is to complete our online Adoption Application at http://forgetmenotshelter.org/application

Please do not call the shelter; do the application first.

Meet Mimosa!

Mimosa is a gorgeous, fluffy orange tabby with long, luxurious fur and the sweetest personality. Born on August 15, 2023, she came to us after being sadly abandoned — but she hasn’t lost her capacity to love. Now, she’s looking for a calm, patient home where she can blossom into the loyal companion she’s meant to be.

Mimosa is a gentle soul who thrives in a quiet, peaceful environment. She’s a bit shy at first, but once she warms up (usually with a few gentle ear rubs), she’s all about affection. She's happiest as the only pet, and would do best in a home without loud noises, other cats, or dogs.

Loves:

Being petted and brushed (she adores grooming time!)

Cozy naps in quiet corners

Ear rubs—especially now that she's recovering from a past ear mite issue (don’t worry, she’s been treated and has just one follow-up left!)

Churu treats—instant trust-builder!

Due to her long fur, Mimosa will need regular brushing to avoid matting, but she absolutely enjoys the attention. With a little time and patience, she’ll become a devoted lap kitty and your soft, purring shadow.

We'd love to see Mimosa settle into a calm, spa-like home with someone who can offer her the patience and gentleness she needs to thrive. As a thank-you, we’ll even send her home with a few Churu treats to help break the ice!

Ideal Home:

Quiet household

No other pets

No loud or high-energy humans (of any age)

Lots of love, gentle voices, and soft blankets

If you’re ready to let Mimosa move at her own pace and show her what a loving forever home feels like, come meet her—you might be exactly who she’s been waiting for.

All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Mimosa is a suggested minimum of $50 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts.

Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to the Seattle area, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!
