Here's what the humans have to say about me:
*Fostered in Cedar Rapids Area*
Stormy is a 5 year old girl in search of her forever home once more. She was returned to the rescue after a conflict with an older dog in her previous home. The cause of the fights is unknown, but since coming back to the rescue, she has been a perfect angel. She attends daycare daily and gets along with every dog she meets, playing nicely and ignoring the resident cats.
With great enthusiasm, Stormy loves to roll and push herself headfirst down the yard. She is sensitive about her bent ear, which is thought to be the result of an untreated ear infection that led to a hematoma. Understandably, she prefers her ears not be touched, though she will sometimes allow gentle rubs when she is comfortable. When her ears are feeling sore, she needs them to be left alone.
Beyond that, Stormy is generally cooperative with handling, adores being brushed, and absolutely loves a good scratch. She can be a bit vocal during mealtimes (who can blame a hungry girl?) and will also use her voice when she needs to go outside to the bathroom. She follows commands wonderfully and goes potty on command with a "hurry up, go potty!" prompt. After a day of napping, Stormy-girl will often get the cutest zoomies.
Stormy is known to be a fast eater, so she is fed using a slow-eating dish. She walks well on a gentle leader but will pull without one. She has been trained with an e-collar and responds to the tone. Stormy is highly motivated by treats and will stay close by for them.

More about this rescue
Founded in 2005, we are a volunteer home-based rescue group run by dedicated volunteers. Our dogs live in volunteer homes as family members with the same love, care and attention they would receive in an adoptive home.
We provide training, socialization, vet care and evaluation for all of the dogs in our care. All of our dogs are vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed or neutered prior to adoption.
GSDRI is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization licensed by the state of Iowa.
