Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Bird 7160
Bird will remind you of when you were much younger and you had just discovered a passion for an activity, fresh and untried, that reached out and grabbed you. Whether it was for singing or playing an instrument or biking or hiking or swimming or climbing trees or drawing or reading or pets or stamp collecting or like Bird, playing with spheres of any form and function. Welcome to the world of Bird, whose entertaining fascination with balls of all descriptions is amazingly heartwarming. 5-year-old Bird enjoys playing with tennis balls, baseballs, softballs, squishy balls, bouncy balls, racquet balls, volleyballs, soccer balls, beach balls and even a dodge ball. But as is evident from these pics, his overall favorite is a slightly deflated basketball and we presume that his role model is the Boston Celtics renowned Larry Bird. Our Humane Society Bird is lovingly referred to as BB (ball boy) and his motto is “have ball, will travel.” Joining him in a game of toss, fetch, and retrieve are guaranteed to bring a smile to your face and put a laugh in your tummy. At least the lowlife human who deserted Bird on a Beaver Lake dock left him with a ball as his only friend. Bird has many friends now and is a joyful, obedient canine who will welcome you with a happy tail wag and an invitation for a lovable hug.

Our adoption fee is $70 which covers all the basic shots and worming medications appropriate for the age of the animal as well as the required spaying or neutering. If the animal is too young to be neutered, a voucher is presented to the adopter to cover the process at a participating vet. Rabies shots are not included. We have an application process in which we ask basic questions to insure that you and the chosen pet are a good match for each other. We do require a vet reference. If you have been arrested and convicted of animal abuse or neglect, you will not be considered for adoption. If you do not own your home, a letter from the landlord giving permission to have a pet is required. Local ordinances regarding maximum numbers of pets shall be observed. All other household pets must be spayed or neutered. All pets are adopted "as is." Should the pet not work out after you take it home, we ask that you return the animal to us for re-homing. We want each animal to find a loving forever home and reserve the right to refuse any application should the individual needs of the chosen animal not be in that dog's best interest. Contact our office for inquiries and applications.
