If cats truly have nine lives, then Dorian has to be on number three or four. She was found outside, and came into Trenton Cats Rescue nearly a year ago, as a scared stray. When she entered her foster home, it became apparent that she wasn’t comfortable being touched, and would lash out and bite whenever a hand came near. She was probably encouraged to bite as a kitten, and when she became an adult, and it wasn’t cute anymore, her family dumped her. A vet visit discovered that she had a semi-healed back injury, likely from being kicked. Then, just as she was beginning to feel better, she became ill with FIP, a virus that threatened her life. Fortunately, there is now effective medicine for this once deadly virus, and after completing 84 days of treatment, Dorian is better, and sweeter, than ever. She will likely always bite, although these days, they’re more of the love bite variety. Although she is adored by her foster family, this tiny, beautiful girl is now looking for her forever home. She will need an adopter who is very patient with her, who has a quiet household with no small children. Dorian does do well with non-aggressive cats, but would prefer a dog-free home. We hope that someone special will take the time to win her over.
If you'd like to meet this cat or think this cat would be a good match for your family, please complete our adoption questionnaire at http://www.trentoncats.org/adoption-questionnaire/ and let your references know someone will be contacting them soon. All our cats are neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed and flea-treated, tested for FIV/FeLV, and microchipped prior to adoption. Thanks for opting to adopt!
