Elle s’est rapidement ouverte, révélant toute sa gentillesse, sa sensibilité et son désir profond de créer des liens.
Elle aime les plaisirs simples : les longues promenades, les longues siestes, les caresses sur la tête et le derrière, se prélasser sur le sofa devant la télévision, savourer quelques friandises et transporter fièrement son toutou préféré en forme de cornichon. Elle est propre, connaît déjà quelques commandes de base et apprend facilement de nouvelles. C’est un chien vif d’esprit qui souhaite plaire aux personnes en qui elle a confiance.
Pickle prend actuellement une médication pour l’anxiété et a encore besoin de temps pour renforcer sa confiance, surtout lors des absences prolongées et des rencontres avec des chiens inconnus. Toutefois, sa famille d’accueil observe des progrès constants dans tous ces aspects. Avec de la patience et de la stabilité, Pickle continuera de gagner en confiance.
Elle s’épanouirait particulièrement dans un foyer sans jeunes enfants ni autres animaux, où elle pourrait développer un lien solide avec ses adoptant.es et recevoir toute l’attention et l’encadrement nécessaires à son cheminement. Pickle is an adorable and sweet companion who has been thriving in her foster home. When she first arrived, she was anxious and uncertain. Life on the streets had taught her to be cautious, and she struggled to communicate her needs. With patience, consistency, and a calm environment, Pickle has made tremendous progress. She has opened up quickly, showing just how kind, sensitive, and eager to connect she really is.
Pickle enjoys the simple things: long walks, long naps, head and bum scratches, stretching out on the couch for TV time, treats, and proudly carrying around her favourite pickle-shaped plush toy. She is potty trained, has learned basic tricks and picks up new skills well. She truly is a keen learner who wants to please the people

Most of the animals available for adoption are at our shelter, on Jean-Talon Street in Montréal. Please come meet them during our opening hours. Note the wait time can be several hours on Saturdays and Sundays so, if you can, come by on a weekday instead!

Founded in Montreal in 1869, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (now known simply as the Montreal SPCA) was the first animal-welfare organization in Canada. It is not known under whose influence the society was formed, but its history acknowledges assistance from animal-welfare societies in France, England and the United States. In its early years, the SPCA concentrated primarily on improving the treatment of work horses, which were used all across the island of Montreal. The SPCA later began working on additional issues, such as humane dog control, cock-fighting and the killing of wild birds. The SPCA has come a long way since its beginnings: today, it is the largest animal-protection organization in Quebec, speaking on behalf of animals wherever there is ignorance, cruelty, exploitation or neglect.
