Their adoption process

We have a 2 week trial period and a half refund policy if the pet turns out not a good fit with the family.

We have a foster-to-adopt option for some dogs meeting certain criteria

We have a post-adoption support group and training support related to behavioural problems.

Adoption steps

  1. Submit Application
    1. We have an adoption application: bit.ly/CooGo-AAF
  2. Meet the Pet
    1. If the initial screening is good, we set up a meet and greet with the pet at the foster's.
  3. Home Check
    1. Usually completed in person but with COVID it will be a video call.
  4. Interview
    1. As all the questions to assess the motivation of adoption, expectation, and skill sets. This has a structural component and a non-structural
  5. Approve Application
    1. After discussion with internal application committee, we approve.
  6. Sign Adoption Contract
    1. We let the adopter sign a contract, fill out acknowledgement form, and indicate the preferred way for follow up
  7. Pay Fee
    1. We collect payment prior to pick up, then the adopters can pick up the pet.

Please check our website coogo.ca for dogs that are already in Vancouver and fill out an application form! We will schedule meet and greet sessions for the top 2 applicants and start the application process there! We also host adoption events at Bone an Biscuit in Newport Village in Port Moody!

CooGo is a nonprofit organization in Vancouver, Canada that rescues, rehabilitate, and re-home dogs from Taiwan and Beijing, China. After adopting our dogs, Cooper and Sango from Taiwan, we see that any dogs, regardless of breed, size, place of birth, infirmity, past experiences are entitled to a loving home and a peaceful life. CooGo was built based on Cooper and Sango, and we hope to bring more happiness to other dogs like Cooper and Sango and to people's lives!
