Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Barkley is an approximately 1.5 year old Shar Pei mix. He is neutered, up to date on all of his vaccines and testing!

Barkley LOVES to play with other dogs! We believe he would do well in a home with a dog buddy to play with!

His foster mom describes his temperament as good natured, he is high energy, and can be anxious. He is crate trained, smart and eager to please. Barkley is a special puppy who cannot wait to land in someone’s heart for good!

We are a 100% foster-based organization so a day/time is coordinated with our amazing foster to meet the animal that caught your eye.

Our contracts are digital + sent from our software database.

We have several options for you to help us continue our work in matching animals with their forever family units.

At this time, Familiar Hearts Animal Society meetings are by appointment only.

We currently rely on our amazing web of generous fosters throughout the Philadelphia area and will do our best to make a meeting as convenient as possible for both human + animal.

Meetings will need to be coordinated through the foster of the animal you are interested in meeting.

Mission Statement: To end the unnecessary suffering of homeless companion animals by serving as a refuge and enabling humans to provide them quality and compassionate homes.

Our Vision: Our mission is two-fold; we want to help abandoned pets and we want to help stop pet abandonment.

We operate using a network of kind hearted hands to help find homeless animals veterinary and behavior care and then match them with appropriate forever homes. We also strive to educate pet owners about resources they might utilize in order to best understand how to provide for their friends with furry paws, feathers or claws. We always do our best to help.
