My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MBR holds monthly adoption events on the 2nd Saturday of every month at Tractor Supply in Columbia Station, 24100 Royalton Road from 11 am - 2 pm. Questions can be emailed to rescue@mbrohio.com
PLEASE NOTE: Jody is being fostered and will be adopted out of Florida.
Meet Jody — A Brave Blind Beauty Looking for Her Forever Home 🐾
Jody is a 14-year-old Jack Russell Terrier who has already weathered more than most. After her owner unexpectedly passed away, her world was turned upside down. Sadly, her owner's extended family is unable to care for her and turned her over to rescue.
Now safe in a loving Florida foster home, Jody is thriving. Despite being blind, she navigates her environment confidently — just don’t rearrange the furniture too much! She learns quickly, relies on sound and smell, and as long as she knows you’re nearby, she’s calm and content.
What Makes Jody Special
• 💖 Sweet & Gentle Soul — Jody loves to snuggle and is happiest curled up beside you.
• 🐶 Playful Personality — When she’s happy, she rolls, snorts, and wiggles with joy!
• 👩‍👧 Loyal Companion — She has mild separation anxiety, but simple baby gates work great when you’re away for a few hours.
• 🚗 Perfect Adventure Buddy — She rides beautifully in the car and enjoys outings in her stroller.
• 🚫 No Crates, please! — Being crated makes her extremely anxious, and she will potty if confined.
• 🏡 Mostly Housebroken — Due to her blindness, her potty signals can be subtle at first — but once you learn her cues, it’s easy.
If she ever gets lost or confused, she may bark because she’s scared and searching for reassurance. Just let her know you’re there, and she settles right down. If you have a soft spot for seniors and believe love is blind — literally — Jody may be the girl for you. ❤️
If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, the first thing to do is submit an application for approval. All dogs available for adoption are in foster homes. Please do not visit the rescue location as it is a privately run boarding, training & grooming facility. Individual meet and greets are scheduled by appointment only for approved adopters.

Additional adoption info

Due to recent events, we use discretion when adopting to a home with children under the age of 5 and to an adult under 23. This does not mean you are automatically disqualified, but we may require additional information.

The adoption fee for all animals listed depends on the breed/species, age, vet care, cost to pull from the kill shelter, worming medicine, flea medicine, vaccinations, micro chip, etc. The adoption fee BARELY covers all of the previous mentioned expenses. Please do not ask for us to lower the fee.

All adopters must fill out an application. Please note: Once you submit an adoption application, it could possibly take up to 10 days to process. Thank you for your patience. Please email us for an adoption application at rescue@mbrohio.com or submit on our website http://www.mbrohio.com/adoption-application/

Go meet their pets

The dogs listed on this site are located at various foster homes throughout Ohio & some are located at a private boarding facility. Anyone wishing to visit one of our dogs or other animals must first complete an application and be an approved adopter before scheduling an appointment. Majority of scheduled appointments take place at a boarding facility in Grafton, Ohio

Please make a note that we do not transport our animals to you; you would need to come to Grafton Ohio to meet and possibly adopt.

More about this rescue

This site supports a small group of people who try to help as many animals that we can that have been displaced. All of the animals are checked by a vet, altered and updated on all vaccinations prior to going to a home.

We are all volunteers who do the best that we can with the limited funds and resources available to us. We give the potential adopter as much information as we can, including copies of all vet records but we normally do not know the history of the animals, as they are strays at the pound or taken by a humane officer from poor living conditions. Very rarely do we have owner releases. Most dogs in our program were minutes away from being put to sleep so the pound could make space for more strays.
