Meet Sunshine!

Some dogs just radiate joy — and Sunshine is one of them. This 2-year-old cattle dog mix has the kind of spirit that can turn a hard day around with just one look. When she walks into a room, her whole body wiggles, her tail thumps like a drum, and her big goofy smile makes it impossible not to smile back. ☀️💛

Sunshine is happiest when she’s with her people. She loves kids, loves other dogs, and loves being part of whatever the family is doing — whether that’s playing in the yard, going for a walk, or just relaxing on the couch. She’s incredibly affectionate, eager to please, and she tries so hard to make everyone around her happy.

She’s also a smart girl! Sunshine is currently in our Valdosta Prison Program, working on her basic obedience and showing her trainers just how bright and capable she is. She’s house trained, crate trained, and ready to settle right into a loving home.

The only thing Sunshine asks is a home without cats or small animals — they’re a little too exciting for her. But with humans? She’s pure gold.

We are located at 1740 W. Gordon Street, Valdosta GA 31601. We are right down the road from Ellianos in Remerton. We invite you to come see our cats at our office, Monday through Friday, 9am to 2pm. Call 229-247-3266 to confirm.

More about this rescue

The HSVLC is a non-profit organization that only rescues animals based on available foster homes and funding. All of our dogs and some of our cats live in foster homes. Loving families have taken them in and are caring for them until they find their furrever home. We also house many of our cats at our office location. We have four cage free rooms dedicated to housing our resident cats. You can stop by our office during business hours to visit our residents or contact us in advance to schedule a visit with one of our fosters.
