Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sophie is a beautiful 2-year old female Boxer mix who was brought to the HSOV on October 7, 2025 by a Marietta Ohio City Police Officer who had picked her up in the 400 block on Eighth Street in Marietta Ohio. Sophie was wearing a collar but there was neither an id tag or license tag on her collar .. And she was not microchipped.

Sophie has a dark brown/brindle-and-white short smooth coat, a long tail, and an adorable face with dark brown eyes, a splash of white on her muzzle, a narrow white stripe on her forehead, and large floppy ears.

This little sweetheart has a friendly disposition and an affectionate personality.

Sophie weighs 58 lbs and walks fairly well on a leash.

These photos were taken late in the afternoon on October 18th when HSOV Lead Canine Kennel Tech Emily Beaver accompanied Sophie for outdoor glamour pictures. The sky was beginning to cloud over in anticipation of an impending rain storm, so the lighting was not conducive to showing off the true color of Sophie's gorgeous brindle coat ..

We will take more flattering photos of Sophie if she is not reclaimed, but we really really hope that Sophie's family will see her photos on our Facebook pages and know that she is safely in our shelter. Sophie misses her very own house/family and would love to go back home again.

Sophie was spayed on December 15, 2025 and was also given rabies vaccine.

Update: Sophie went home with a foster family on January 27, 2026 who plans to adopt her if all goes well.
