My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Please note that we can not guarantee the age, expected weight or breed of any animal. What we provide is our best estimates based on our experience and the information provided by the our medical partners. If breed and eventual size are of great importance we suggest looking into a breed specific rescue or adopting a full grown animal.

Unless otherwise noted, ALL animals are fostered and available for adoption on Long Island, NY.

SPECIAL NEEDS KITTEN
Meet Little Girl
This sweet kitten had an extremely rough start and any other shelter or rescue would have lost hope. But not the local one she came to and not us!
Little Girl is a special case, she came into the shelter with a head tilt and mild neurological abnormalities that effected her gait (walk). She was treated for presumptive toxoplasmosis. She has gone through all her courses of antibiotics and has shown improvement and no regression. She also has locating patella's of both hind knees which also causes gait abnormalities sometimes.
This does not stop our girl from being playful spunky and full of love. She is the sweetest girl with a hard history and she has shown she is brave and strong. This girl may develop arthritis sooner than most cats and could require a specific food to help in supplementing what she will need to keep her bones strong, but as for now she gets to live her life just as is and is hoping for her forever family that accepts her for who she is.

This baby is spayed/neutered, UTD on vaccinations, is FIV and FeLV/Feline Leukemia Negative, and ready to find a soft spot to land and enjoy a family!

we are a foster based organization located on Long Island, NY. We do out of state adoptions within a reasonable distance. Please visit LCARescue.org for an application or more information!

More about this rescue

We provide adoption services in NY, NJ, CT, RI, NH, and ME.

Last Chance Animal Rescue is a Charitable, not -for profit organization, created to save the lives of animals. We rescue animals that are located in "KILL" facilities and underwrite the costs of relocating them to "NO KILL" facilities in hopes of finding them a forever family. We work with local veterinarians for spay-neuter/ medical services until permanent placement is secured into a pre-screened loving home. We depend on donations to continue to save these helpless loving animals from being killed and hope that you will consider supporting our cause..... saving as many lives as we can.
