Hi there. I’m Squishy—the big cat around here, the cool cat, maybe even the leader of the pack. That might be because I’ve got big paws and I’m clearly growing into a very big kitty, both in size and in presence.
I’m still learning how to be brave, but I try every day. One of my favorite confidence-boosters is food. Wet food, soft center treats, squeeze treats—I love them all, and I’m very good at eating them. When I’m enjoying a meal, that’s when I feel safest, and I absolutely love being pet from my shoulders all the way down to my tail. Head pets are still a little scary for me, but I’m working on it.
I’m excellent at playing with wand toys—please consider recruiting me for your wand toy team. I’ll rub against the wand, nearby furniture, and table legs while we play, because what I really want is to be brave enough for your hands. Sometimes I just need a little extra distance while I build trust, and the wand helps me feel safe while we bond.
I enjoy watching birds from my window seat and love curling up with the other cats for naps. I’m a protective big brother type, and the other cats seem to look up to me. I do fine with cats, but dogs are a bit overwhelming right now. A very calm, lazy dog might be okay with time, but boisterous ones make me nervous.
I’m fully litter box trained and don’t have separation anxiety. What I truly need is a patient person or family who understands that trust is earned slowly—with toys, treats, wet food, and kindness. If you’re willing to take that journey with me, I promise it will be worth it.
My adoption fee includes up-to-date vaccinations, dewormer, and heartworm/flea prevention. Plus, a microchip that is already registered to you! What more could you ask for?
If you`d like to meet me, please fill out an application on our website, PawmettoLifeline.org.
Adoptions are by appointment Tuesday through Thursday. On Fridays and Saturdays, you’re welcome to walk in anytime between 10:00am and 5:00pm. Please note that we’re closed for adoptions on Sundays and Mondays
