Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Dave is an 8 year old, 24 pound male chi mix looking for his forever home. Dave is not the usual chi mix that CRT rescues. Our buddy Dave was rescued from a hoarding situation along with 10 Chihuahuas, and they just couldn’t leave this sweet boy behind! The best guess we have for Dave’s breed is possibly a combination of corgi and chihuahua, given his build and size. He is a work in progress and needs to lose a few pounds to get to his ideal weight. To get to his first goal of 20 pounds, he needs to lose 4 more pounds.
Dave gets along well with other dogs and he is still playful and has quite a bit of energy for his age and weight. Dave is shy at first, but it doesn’t take him long to warm up to new people. He is a very loving dog and just needs a family to call his own.
Dave walks well on a leash and is house trained.
Dave is neutered, up to date on his vaccinations, and has been fully vetted. As mentioned previously, he is on a weight loss journey since entering rescue, and his new family will need to continue working on thie with him. Dave is heartworm negative and takes monthly heartworm prevention. He is also microchipped.
Dave’s adoption donation is $300.
If you are interested in the above dog, please do not email us and tell us that you are interested, but submit an adoption application. The link for the application is below.
To submit an application go here: http://www.chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application/
An application must be submitted and approved before a meet-n-greet can be scheduled.
Your current dogs/cats must be spayed or neutered unless a veterinarian has determined that your current pet(s) should not be fixed due to medical reasons. They must also be up-to-date on shots and on HW preventative.
Reference checks and a home visit are required so SE dogs can only be adopted in NC/SC, VA, TN, AL, MD and GA.

We require an adoption application, reference checks and home visit before adoption.
We also require that all current pets be UTD on shots, on HW preventative and spayed/neutered. Adoption fee is $250.00 for Chi's over 1 year of age and $300 for Chi's under 1 year of age. Other adoption listings are priced as is.
We do not set up a meet-n-greet with a dog without an approved application and a completed home visit. The process starts with an application on line and when the application and references have been checked, a home visit is required. After the HV report has been reviewed by our board, a meet-n-greet will be set up.
