Meet Kid – A Quiet Survivor Just Learning to Feel Safe
Kid is a 2-year-old orange tabby with a tough past—he was found after being hit by a car and taken in by the rescue for a second chance. Physically, he’s healed. Emotionally? He’s still learning to trust.
He’s a shy, cautious soul who keeps his distance and prefers to quietly observe from afar. He’s not aggressive—just fearful. He shows up for food and snacks and watches you with wide eyes, but he isn’t ready for touch. Not yet.
Kid would do best in a very calm, patient home with someone who understands that healing takes time—and that love can be quiet. No pressure. No expectations. Just kindness, safety, and space to grow.
Sometimes the most meaningful rescue stories aren’t about cuddles. They’re about trust, earned slowly, and a cat learning—for the first time—that he’s truly safe. 🧡
Kid is vaccinated, neutered, and healthy (fiv negative and felv negative)
If you are interested in adopting Kid please fill out adoption form on our website and our staff will review and reach out shortly (link to adoption form is below)

Meowsquad is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization started in 2019. Our goal is to reduce the large stray and feral cat population of New York City by using Trap Neuter Return (TNR) techniques as well as working with the community to find forever homes for cats and kittens that can be resocialized. We also aim to relocate those who cannot be returned into safe, working environments.
