My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Disclaimer: This animal is not in Anderson custody. and is a courtesy post to help a member of the community rehome directly without shelter intervention. Any adoption inquiries should be directed to the owner at Andylazcano1995@yahoo.com and/or (224) 833-7162. Anderson Humane makes no guarantees regarding medical or behavioral status of this animal, and the current owner is solely responsible for disclosing any challenges or concerns.

Delilah is a gorgeous 7-year-old Maine Coon mix with a heart as big as her fluffy tail! She is incredibly sweet, affectionate, and loves being the center of attention. Playful and curious, Delilah enjoys exploring her surroundings and soaking up all the love she can get.

She has been the queen of her castle since kittenhood, so she is used to being the only cat. While she hasn’t been around other cats, she has had experiences with dogs- though she prefers slow introductions and calm energy. Eager pups can overwhelm her, but with patience, she adjusts just fine.

Delilah would thrive in a home that gives her the love, space, and gentle attention she deserves. She does well with respectful kids who understand her boundaries and give her time to come to them.

More about this shelter

A one-of-a-kind animal welfare organization, Anderson Humane focuses on creating and supporting mutually beneficial relationships between people and animals. Current programming such as our Adoption Program, Military Veterans’ Program, and Healing Paws Pet Therapy Program create positive, impactful connections between people and animals, improving the lives of both. Future programs will be offered in partnership with human-service organizations throughout our community, maximizing impact and changing lives for the better.

Anderson Humane is a resource for pet owners, providing information and services to provide better care for their pets. Services such as our Low-Cost Vaccination, Dental, and Spay/Neuter Clinics offer affordable veterinary care options, preventing owners from having to give up their pets simply because they can’t afford care. On the horizon are additional programs to keep pets in homes, such as a pet food pantry, affordable pet training options, and temporary housing for pets when families are in crisis.
