My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Joy is an adora-BULLY delight!
At just 2 years old, Joy is waddling through life on her stubby little legs and stealing hearts along the way! This supremely chunky 60lb queen ended up at the shelter after being found as a lost dog, but now she's ready to find a forever home that matches her sunny personality.

Joy's smile can light up a room, and her tail never stops wagging! We're still getting to know her, but so far, she's been non-reactive around other dogs, great with treats (super gentle!), and pretty good on leash.

Don't wait-come meet Joy at AHS Tinton Falls, NJ! She's ready to bring pure happiness into your home.

More about this shelter

The Associated Humane Societies rescues stray and homeless animals, both domestic and wildlife, providing quality care and sanctuary until loving homes can be found. As a community-based organization, we provide low-cost veterinary care and humane education to promote responsible pet guardianship throughout New Jersey.

For over a century we have offered a haven to abused and neglected animals. Founded in 1906, AHS is the largest animal sheltering system in New Jersey, operating three shelters located in Newark, Forked River, and Tinton Falls. Our Forked River facility also includes Popcorn Park. Established in 1977, Popcorn Park is a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused, or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds.

The Society is a not-for-profit, 501(c)3 organization and we take pride in our devotion to the thousands of animals that come through our doors looking for a better life.

Please visit our website AHSCares.org for additional information.
