My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Fender 👑🐾

Fender is a cat who knows exactly what he wants… and fully expects the universe (and you) to cooperate. His hobbies include dramatic lounging, rolling over to show off his adorable fluff, and supervising the room like the true king he is.

Important note from His Majesty: the belly is for display purposes only. Attempting belly rubs may result in royal disapproval.

Fender enjoys being around the other cats and naturally assumes his rightful role as ruler of the group. If there’s a comfy spot, he’s claiming it. If there’s attention available, he’s accepting it (on his terms, of course).

Adopt Fender and welcome a tiny, fluffy monarch into your home. Long may he reign. 👑

More about this shelter

The Associated Humane Societies rescues stray and homeless animals, both domestic and wildlife, providing quality care and sanctuary until loving homes can be found. As a community-based organization, we provide low-cost veterinary care and humane education to promote responsible pet guardianship throughout New Jersey.

For over a century we have offered a haven to abused and neglected animals. Founded in 1906, AHS is the largest animal sheltering system in New Jersey, operating three shelters located in Newark, Forked River, and Tinton Falls. Our Forked River facility also includes Popcorn Park. Established in 1977, Popcorn Park is a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused, or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds.

The Society is a not-for-profit, 501(c)3 organization and we take pride in our devotion to the thousands of animals that come through our doors looking for a better life.

Please visit our website AHSCares.org for additional information.
