My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Wally is just under two years old and is a Husky/Shepherd mix looking for his forever home.
He is high energy, loves to play, and is a big fan of toys. Wally is looking for a home with lots of opportunities for exercise and activities that keep his brain busy, too. Training and enrichment games would be right up his alley.

Wally does show some separation anxiety, so he would do best with someone who is home often and looking for a loyal sidekick. He is the kind of dog who wants to be part of your day, not just waiting around for you to come back.

If you’re active, patient, and want a best friend who’s always down for an adventure, Wally might be your guy. 🐾

More about this shelter

The Associated Humane Societies rescues stray and homeless animals, both domestic and wildlife, providing quality care and sanctuary until loving homes can be found. As a community-based organization, we provide low-cost veterinary care and humane education to promote responsible pet guardianship throughout New Jersey.

For over a century we have offered a haven to abused and neglected animals. Founded in 1906, AHS is the largest animal sheltering system in New Jersey, operating three shelters located in Newark, Forked River, and Tinton Falls. Our Forked River facility also includes Popcorn Park. Established in 1977, Popcorn Park is a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused, or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds.

The Society is a not-for-profit, 501(c)3 organization and we take pride in our devotion to the thousands of animals that come through our doors looking for a better life.

Please visit our website AHSCares.org for additional information.
