What is Rehome?
If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
Simcha's owner passed unexpectedly, and he and a second cat needed a new home on short notice.
We've homed him for about six months now and are very fond of him, but ultimately he's too expensive for us (I was laid off a year ago now; any cat would be a lot, but he's a senior cat with a couple medications). He also doesn't quite get along with the other younger cat, which can be stressful.
He's a real sweetheart, spends most of his days curling up and following sunbeams, though he does like to bother someone for some brushing once in a while. He's a little rickety and seemed quite nervous and solitary when he first moved in, but he's warmed up considerably since we've gotten to know him, especially since we got him to a vet and started managing his arthritis (I don't think he had great care in his previous home).
We love him, but it's difficult to fit him into our lives right now, and we'd love to find him a home where he fits perfectly.
