My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Maisie is a 5-year-old, 36-pound sweetheart who's equal parts love bug and goofball!
With her wagging tail and heart of gold, Maisie has a special way of making you feel like the most important person in the world.

Maisie is happiest when she has her humans all to herself- she prefers to be your one and only. But trust us, she has so much love to give out!

If you're looking for a loyal and loving companion- Maisie is your girl!

More about this shelter

The Associated Humane Societies rescues stray and homeless animals, both domestic and wildlife, providing quality care and sanctuary until loving homes can be found. As a community-based organization, we provide low-cost veterinary care and humane education to promote responsible pet guardianship throughout New Jersey.

For over a century we have offered a haven to abused and neglected animals. Founded in 1906, AHS is the largest animal sheltering system in New Jersey, operating three shelters located in Newark, Forked River, and Tinton Falls. Our Forked River facility also includes Popcorn Park. Established in 1977, Popcorn Park is a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds.

The Society is a not for profit, 501(c)3 organization and we take pride in our devotion to the thousands of animals that come through our doors looking for a better life.

Please visit our website AHSCares.org for additional information.
