Gus was rescued from the Downey shelter euthanasia list, where he was so terrified that he would only crawl on the ground. He had clearly experienced a lot in his young life, but this gentle soul never stopped hoping for a second chance.
Thanks to his amazing foster mom, Gus has blossomed. With confidence, structure, and love, he’s learned that the world isn’t so scary after all. He’s gaining manners, trust, and joy every single day — showing just how resilient and special he is.
Gus is about 4 years old, a handsome Belgian Malinois/Shepherd mix, and still young enough to enjoy adventures while mature enough to appreciate calm moments with his people. He’d thrive in a home that can give him continued structure, love, and a safe place to keep growing into the incredible dog he’s becoming.
