My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cherry is an exceptionally sweet, gentle dog who spent a week with her foster family and proved to be an absolute gem. She is deeply people-oriented, happily following her person from room to room and settling nearby. Cherry enjoys slow, thoughtful introductions and quickly becomes a loyal friend once she feels safe. She is fully potty trained, well-mannered, non-reactive on walks, and quiet in the home—sleeping through the night on her dog bed and behaving perfectly when left uncrated.

Cherry loves outdoor time, sunbathing, slow-play with her tennis ball, and soaking up belly rubs. Though she has noticeable hip dysplasia and is heartworm positive, she still enjoys gentle walks and light play. She rides calmly in the car, doesn’t beg for food, and shows zero resource guarding. Cherry may alert to unfamiliar noises but settles quickly. With her happy disposition and tender nature, Cherry will be a wonderful companion for a patient, loving adopter.

Cherry has beaten every odd against her. She was a stray with a prolapsed uterus at Sumter County Animal Services. SCAS did surgery for the uterus and spayed her. Her gentle giant demeanor makes her an immediate favorite around the Humane Society of Sumter County and sue to be your next best friend. Cherry is a special dog with special needs who needs a special home.
