My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Sheila was brought in by his previous owner on October 11, 2025.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Sheila, a sweet and spirited guinea pig ready to find her new home! Sheila is a curious little explorer who loves to check out her surroundings and munch on fresh veggies. She'll thrive in a spacious enclosure with plenty of room to roam, lots of timothy hay to nibble on, and cozy hideaways where she can relax. Like all guinea pigs, Sheila is a social animal and would likely enjoy the companionship of another gentle female piggy-just be sure to introduce them slowly and carefully. Sheila is looking for a kind, attentive guardian who can offer her daily interaction, enrichment, and plenty of love. If you're ready to welcome this adorable piggy into your home, bring a secure carrier and come meet Sheila today!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
