Meet Nova – A Shining Star Looking for Her Guiding Light
Nova is a gentle soul with a heart full of love and a spirit that shines brighter than ever, even though the world around her may be a little dim. This sweet senior girl may have limited—or no—sight, and could also be hearing impaired, but she navigates her days with grace, patience, and a wagging tail.
Nova came into our care with a canine companion, but she’s shown us that she’s confident enough to go it alone or could happily share her home with another calm, respectful dog who understands her unique needs. Because she can’t always see or hear others approaching, she thrives best with gentle souls who move slowly and kindly around her, dogs included. It`s best Nova does not go to a home with cats. She would prefer to be the only dog, but, if you have one in the home, she asks it`s very calm, mellow, and a couch potato like her. Energetic or bouncy friends cause Nova too much stress.
She hasn’t had experience with children, so she’d be happiest in a home with older, dog-savvy kids who understand how to move and interact thoughtfully with a pup who experiences the world a little differently.
Nova could adapt to many types of homes, but environments with long hallways, tight corners, and lots of stairs may pose a challenge. A safe, enclosed yard where she can explore at her own pace and get familiar with her surroundings would be a lovely bonus for her. Predictability is key—knowing where things are and having a steady routine helps her feel secure and confident.
She’s treat-motivated, affectionate, and very fond of pets (she’d like us to emphasize that!). She also has a few extra pounds to lose, so her future family will need to help her stay active and healthy while managing her diet—she’s up for the challenge if it involves snacks and praise!
Nova is looking for a home with kind, patient people who will be her eyes and ears—those who can gently guide her through the rest of her journey. Experience with blind or deaf dogs is a plus, but above all, she needs someone who sees her not for what she’s lost, but for the immense love she still has to give.
If you’re ready to open your heart and home to a truly special girl, Nova is waiting—with soft kisses, happy tail wags, and a lifetime of love just for you. Nova is a special paws adoption due to a lengthy medical history, but because of this, my adoption fee is totally up to you ($30 admin fee still app
