✨🐾 Meet Serge 🐾✨

Serge is a 3-year-old Black Mouth Cur/Boxer mix 🐕 who has been in rescue since August 2024. He came to us as an owner surrender, as his previous family adored him but unfortunately couldn’t handle his strength—Serge was just too much of a guy for them. 💔 Despite that, he’s a wonderful, affectionate, and friendly boy who loves attention and cuddles. 💖

This handsome little guy is on the smaller side—knee-high and weighs 54 lbs ⚖️—but don’t let his size fool you. Serge has loads of energy ⚡ and absolutely loves to run and play, so he would thrive with an active family 🏃‍♂️🏞️ who can keep up with him. He is also a fence-jumping champion 🏰, so he will need a tall, secure fence in his forever home.

Serge is dog-friendly 🐕🐕 and kid-friendly 👦👧 with older children who can handle his excitement (he can accidentally knock over little ones when he’s overjoyed!). We haven’t been able to cat-test him yet, so we are unsure 🐱❓.

Their adoption process

1.
Submit Application

Adoption applications are the first step to meeting a dog in our rescue. You must be approved prior to meeting a dog.

2.
Approve Application

Our rescue reviews the application for approval to adopt from our rescue.

3.
Interview

Our rescue reaches out to discuss any questions on the application and explain the process.

4.
Meet the Pet

We will set up a meet and greet with the dog at this point.

5.
Home Check

If the meet and greet goes well, a home check is done either virtually or in person.

6.
Pay Fee

The adoption fee is paid at this point. Transport fee of up to $200 applies to areas if more than a 2-hour drive dependent on the distance.

7.
Sign Adoption Contract

The adoption contract is signed once the fee is paid and then you take the dog home.

Journey's Legacy is a small rescue in Cleveland, TN. We save dogs from the local shelter, off the streets, and occasionally owner surrenders if there is room or an urgent need. We have dogs in foster homes, boarding facilities, and the ranch. We specialize in medium to large breed dogs. We are working hard to get laws to change to require pet owners to spay and neuter their pets to stop the overpopulation of animals.
