My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adopt Penelope: A Happy, Playful Pup Ready for Her Forever Home!

Meet Penelope, a sweet and spirited dog who’s thriving in her loving foster home after being found as a stray by Rome Animal Control. Grateful to leave the kennel life behind, this friendly, playful girl is bursting with joy and ready to find a forever family to share her boundless affection and enthusiasm for life!

All About Penelope:

• Dog Friendly: Yes! She gets very excited and jumpy around other dogs but is happy, not aggressive.

• Cat & Kid Friendly: Unknown/untested—While we don’t anticipate any issues, we’d require meet and greets to ensure a great fit in her forever home!

• House Trained: In progress—she’s mastering housebreaking with no pee accidents!

• Crate Trained: Yes, she’s comfortable in her crate and sleeps in it from 10:30 PM to 6:30 AM. Sometimes, she even chooses to nap in there!

• Commands: Knows “sit,” “fetch,” and “drop.”

• Loves: Belly rubs, snuggling, being petted, playing fetch with a whiffle ball, soft stuffed squeaky toys, and car rides!

• Personality: Friendly, playful, and average energy—Penelope’s a happy-go-lucky pup who loves attention, talking, and cuddling.

• Initially, she was wary of men, but with time, treats, and pets, she’s warmed up beautifully!

Penelope’s Story & Personality: Penelope is a cheerful dog who bonded quickly with her foster family. She loves to follow her people everywhere, eager to please and responsive to verbal and physical cues. Whether she’s snuffling leaves in the yard, playing fetch, or curling up for a snuggle, Penelope’s enthusiasm for life is infectious. She’s a bit clumsy—tripping on steps or walking over shoes without noticing—but her endearing quirks only add to her charm.

New Experiences This Week: Penelope’s been busy exploring her foster home’s backyard, going on neighborhood walks, meeting another dog for a walk, and perfecting her fetch game with her beloved whiffle ball.

Penelope’s medium size and sturdy build make her easy to handle, and her go-with-the-flow attitude means she’s happy in any activity, from playtime to cozy naps.

Penelope is a joyful, loving pup who’s ready to bring laughter and cuddles to her forever home. Could you be the family to give this sweet girl the love and stability she deserves?
