My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Homi is a domestic shorthair tortie female who is approximately 8 years old. She is currently in foster care.

Meet Homi! Homi is a gentle, thoughtful girl who would thrive in a calm, quiet home where she can truly feel safe. She came to the rescue after her previous owner could no longer care for her, and she’s now looking for a patient, understanding person to give her the fresh start she deserves.

Homi is independent and a little shy at first, taking time to settle into new environments. She needs an owner who is willing to put in the time, patience, and dedication to let her open up at her own pace, but the reward is well worth it. Once Homi feels secure, she is incredibly sweet and deeply affectionate, often choosing one special person to bond with closely.

She loves curling up in her favourite bed, but she’s just as happy sitting in your lap while you craft or lying beside or on you while you read. Homi tends to follow her person from room to room, quietly keeping them company while they cook, read, or go about daily life. She doesn’t demand constant attention, but when she chooses to come over for cuddles, it feels extra special.

Homi is a curious and clever cat who enjoys investigating new things, whether it’s a newly opened drawer or a novel object she hasn’t seen before. Playtime is important to her too, especially when it involves her beloved little yellow mouse. She is very food-motivated and especially enjoys chicken-flavoured foods and treats.

While Homi prefers to be the only cat, she is open to living with a calm dog. She may brush up against him but prefers to keep her personal space and does not want to be groomed by canine companions.

If you are looking for a calm, loyal companion who will love you quietly but deeply, and you have the patience to let her trust grow naturally, Homi could be the perfect match.

Homi is spayed, fully vaccinated with RCCP and rabies, FIV and FeLV negative, microchipped, and on parasite prevention. Her adoption fee is $300. To adopt, please submit an adoption application found in the drop down menu on our website.

Additional adoption info

Most of our cats live in foster homes. Some are available to meet at satellite locations such as Pet Valu and Ren's Depot. A few foster homes are available to meet and greets at their home, or we also do meet and greets at request at our shelter prior to adoption. Most of these results in same day adoptions, and only take place after an adoption interview.
