Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Quietly observant. The loudest thing about Hollis is the silent ache of her starved body. She likes to be close and she loves the snacks. It is amazing for how skinny she still is, Hollis doesn’t get pushy for more treats. When we stop she is happy to sit in our nook and listen to the activity of other dogs playing around us. Hollis isn’t gaining the weight she needs to probably from stress of the shelter. She needs a home and people to love to spoil her.
Chicago Animal Care and Control is located at 2741 S. Western Ave., Chicago, IL, and is open from 12pm to 7pm daily. Walk-in visitors are welcome and helped on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are planning to adopt the day you visit, please plan to arrive before 5:30pm. Visitors arriving after 5:30pm will still be able to view animals in Pavilions A-B-C until 7pm.
All dogs will be spayed/neutered and vaccinated proper to adoption.
All household members should be present to meet dogs (especially those under 18 and any decision-makers).
We recommend and can arrange dog-to-dog meet and greets for your current dog(s) to meet a potential dog sibling at the shelter. You will need to show proof of up-to-date rabies vaccination for your dog(s). Slow, cautious, and appropriate introductions are recommended after you allow time for decompression for the shelter dog.
If you have any questions, please email cacc.vol.coord@gmail.com
