My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Blacky!

Breed: Pug
Birthday: 10/24/2020 5 years old
Weight: 13 pounds
Health: Healthy, vaccinated, and neutered — but even though Blacky is in great shape, it’s important to take him to your own veterinarian soon after adoption to establish care and continue his health plan.

Personality

Blacky is the life of the party wrapped in a chubby little pug body! With his goofy grin, curly tail, and snorty charm, he brings joy everywhere he goes. He loves people, belly rubs, and curling up for cozy naps after a good round of zoomies. Blacky is gentle, funny, and incredibly loyal — the kind of dog who makes every moment brighter just by being there.

Owner Responsibilities

Owning a pug like Blacky means understanding that this squishy-faced sweetheart thrives on companionship and routine. He needs:

  • Daily walks (short ones — he’s a pug, after all!) and light playtime

  • A cool, comfortable home environment — pugs overheat easily

  • Regular vet visits and grooming for his skin folds and nails

  • Time, patience, and consistent love to help him feel secure

Things to Consider

Before adopting, please take a moment to think about:

  • Daily time for walks, feeding, play, and companionship

  • Landlord approval and pet-friendly housing

  • Budget for vet care, grooming, food, and pug-safe cooling gear

  • Life stability — are you moving or traveling soon?

  • Allergies, work schedule, and other pets at home

  • ❤️ Adopting is forever — this is a lifelong commitment

The 3-3-3 Rule

Bringing a new dog home takes patience:

  • First 3 days: Everything is new — give him space, comfort, and calm reassurance.

  • First 3 weeks: He’ll begin to learn your routine and start to trust you.

  • First 3 months: True love and trust blossom — this is when he’ll know he’s finally home.

Why Blacky Would Be a Great Addition

Blacky is a total heart-stealer! His joyful personality and easygoing nature make him a perfect match for families, couples, or singles alike. He’ll make you laugh with his silly antics, melt your heart with his soulful eyes, and fill your days with companionship and love. If you’re looking for a best friend with a little snort and a lot of soul — Blacky’s your guy.
