My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hummus is a bright, affectionate, and endlessly entertaining young cat who brings joy, laughter, and a touch of chaos wherever he goes. He’s a mix of brains, brawn, and pure heart: playful enough to keep you on your toes and loving enough to melt right into your lap once he’s comfortable.

This handsome guy is very smart! Clever enough to figure out doors, scope out the highest perch in the room, and turn just about anything into a game. He loves toys that move fast, wand toys, laser pointers, and little rattle mice he can chase down. If you don’t throw them far enough, he’ll look at you like, “Come on, you can do better.” He especially enjoys a challenge, sneaking, pouncing, and staging dramatic “surprise attacks” on his favorite toys.

Once he’s bonded with you, Hummus becomes a total lovebug. He’ll greet you first thing in the morning (don’t forget to say hello back!), purr like an engine when he’s happy, and sometimes drag himself around the floor on his side in an endearingly silly way. He enjoys lap time and will ask for cuddles or chin rubs when he’s in the mood.

Hummus does best in a quiet home with someone who’s around often and can keep up with both his energy and his affection. He loves other cats, and he’ll thrive with playmates who can match his pace. He can get overstimulated at times (gentle hands, please!), but with patience, he’s quick to show his soft side.

A few of his quirks:
Prefers filtered water (he’s fancy like that)
Favorite snacks include churu, chicken treats, boiled salmon or chicken, and bonito flakes
Sleeps under the bed or in his cozy cat house
Active mostly at night, but snoozy and sweet during the day
Doesn’t love being picked up or having his belly touched

If you’re looking for a fun-loving, super-smart, and affectionate cat who will keep you entertained and adored in equal measure, Hummus might just be your perfect match.

Prior to adoption, all cats are spayed/neutered, tested for FIV/FELV, vaccinated and microchipped.

This kitten is currently in a foster home. To meet this kitten, please fill out an adoption application so that we'll have your contact information, and we'll get back to you as soon as possible. www.thedancingcat.org/adopt
