Lumière aime être proche de son humain et va régulièrement se coucher proche de vous pour tout simplement ronronner. Il vous suit régulièrement dans vos déplacements dans la maison pour ne rien manquer. Malgré ses petits enjeux de propreté, Lumière est un merveilleux et très attachant compagnon de vie. Il aime avoir de l`attention et jaser. C`est un chat que la visite ou même le facteur auront la chance de flatter. Il est curieux et brave, il n`a même pas peur de l`aspirateur. On peut facilement lui couper les griffes et lui donner son médicament tant qu`on lui donne des petites gâteries pour l`encourager. Il a l`âme d`un chasseur et joue régulièrement avec ses jeux et vos crayons. Son jeu préféré du moment est un élastique à cheveux jaune.
Lumière loves being close to his human and will often lie down next to you, simply to purr. He follows you around the house so he doesn`t miss a thing. Despite his occasional litter box issues, Lumière is a wonderful and very affectionate companion. He loves attention and chatting. He`s a cat that visitors or even the mail carrier will have the pleasure of petting. He`s curious and brave; he`s not even afraid of the vacuum cleaner. You can easily trim his claws and give him his medication as long as you give him little treats to encourage him. He has the soul of a hunter and regularly plays with his toys and your crayons. His current favorite toy is a yellow hair tie.

Most of the animals available for adoption are at our shelter, on Jean-Talon Street in Montréal. Please come meet them during our opening hours. Note the wait time can be several hours on Saturdays and Sundays so, if you can, come by on a weekday instead!

Founded in Montreal in 1869, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (now known simply as the Montreal SPCA) was the first animal-welfare organization in Canada. It is not known under whose influence the society was formed, but its history acknowledges assistance from animal-welfare societies in France, England and the United States. In its early years, the SPCA concentrated primarily on improving the treatment of work horses, which were used all across the island of Montreal. The SPCA later began working on additional issues, such as humane dog control, cock-fighting and the killing of wild birds. The SPCA has come a long way since its beginnings: today, it is the largest animal-protection organization in Quebec, speaking on behalf of animals wherever there is ignorance, cruelty, exploitation or neglect.
