Dog Name: Inanna
Breed: Mixed Breed
Sex: Female
Age: 2 ish years
Weight: 51 and gaining
Medical Needs: Seems to have some seasonal allergies, currently taking Zyrtec once a day.
Housebroken: Inanna has done very well with a schedule. She’s still learning and taking cues from the resident pups to go to the door.
Crate trained: Yes. But she will sing you the song of her people if she knows you’re home.
Good in the car: Yes.
Good on a leash: For the most part, she will occasionally pull for a good sniff or to give chase to wild bunnies. Easy corrected and redirected.
Energy level: Medium. She enjoys her walks and likes to play with toys and resident pups.
Need a fenced in yard: No, leashed walks are fine.
Dog Friendly: Yes.
If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive homes? No.
Cat Friendly? Unsure.
Kid Friendly: Yes. She had a sleepover with another foster who has two boys, 8 & 9 and all she wanted was love and affection.
If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with? Any with proper supervision.
Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them?
Inanna most definitely had a rough start to her life. She was found confined behind a shed in Philadelphia, where she was taken to ACCT Philly by Animal Control. They quickly gave her a medical exam and found her to be beyond their scope of care. Inanna was severely emaciated with a belly full of bones. A rescue plea went out urgently for her, and we couldn’t look away.
Inanna LOVES her people. She will melt right into you. She also has big feelings and can’t contain them when she’s excited to see you, she will grab whatever she can and hold it in her mouth until she calms down. Sometimes it’s her leash and she’ll walk herself.
She’s very smart and eager to learn, and she’s very food motivated. She’s already mastered “sit”, “down”, sitting at thresholds, and currently working on “place”.
