Here's what the humans have to say about me:
💔 River’s Story 💔
🐾 River came to our shelter in September 2024 with a litter of puppies — not her own, but ones she arrived alongside. From that day forward, this sweet girl’s life has been filled with waiting. She’s been patient, loving, and hopeful, but luck has not been on her side.
🏡 River spent some time in a foster home and did wonderfully. Her return was no fault of her own. After 8 long months in our care, she finally got her second chance at an adoption event — and for a little while, she had what she deserved: a home and love. But sadly, River has found herself back in the shelter again. 💔
😔 River has spent nearly her entire life in a shelter, only getting short glimpses of what a real home feels like. She doesn’t understand why she’s back, and it breaks our hearts to see her waiting again. Her eyes are full of hope, but also a quiet sadness — she just wants to be someone’s forever. 🥺
💖 River deserves more than a kennel — she deserves love, comfort, and a family who will never let her go. Please help us give this beautiful soul the happy ending she’s been waiting for. 🐶🙏🌈

More about this shelter
Paws N Claws started in 2011 as a small in need for stray animals. Couple years after that we started Animal Control for our area to help enforce animal laws more. We are still a smaller local shelter for Fountian County; we are slowly getting bigger in the area. Our staff does amazing with helping the public answering questions or concerns that come our way. Every day is a new challenge. We can always use donations as we are nonprofit. We welcome volunteers to help with the animals, have play time, which helps the animals see new faces daily. Our manager has been with us now for 9 years.
