My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Poe! This sweet 6-year-old tuxedo boy came to us when a good samaritan found him as a stray. After searching for his potential owner with no luck, Poe made his way to us so that we can find him his new family. Poe has quite the personality and has been extremely affectionate and playful with staff, and will let us know when he has had enough petting and is ready for treats instead! You can often hear him chatting away with his favorite volunteers and staff - and he always has so much to say about his day! Poe was very quickly made available for adoption when he arrived - but we noticed that Poe had some health concerns that needed addressed during his stay with us.

Poe is FIV+ and FeLV+, and had a dental completed to remove several teeth. His most recent bloodwork shows that his FeLV is progressive, so for his comfort we are looking for a hospice foster who is able to keep Poe nice and comfortable in a foster home for the remainder of his life. So far - he is doing extremely well (clearly no one told him his FeLV was progressive!) and again is one of the sweetest boys on campus. We would recommend that Poe does not go to a home with other kitties (as FIV+ & FeLV+ cats can have weakened immune systems).

If you are interested in forever fostering this sweet boy, please let us know! Poe deserves to spend whatever time he has left in a loving foster home! Animal Friends fosters receive free supplies and medical care for LIFE for that animal - so all hospice fosters need to worry about is providing a loving home for their golden years!
