Lewis's early life lacked the love and structure every dog deserves, but he’s making progress each day in his foster home. Lewis is a sweet, submissive boy who’s curious and playful, but still learning to feel safe around people. Lewis is about 15 lbs.
He’s never shown any signs of aggression — not even at the vet. He just needs a calm, patient adopter who can help him continue his journey toward trust and confidence.

Shy but gentle and submissive
Playful with other dogs – he needs a kind canine friend!
Curious and slowly coming out of his shell
No resource guarding or aggression
🐕 Training Progress:
Learning to walk on a leash
Crate trained – keeps his crate clean with scheduled potty breaks.
Working on housebreaking
Eats well from a bowl
Learning that pets and affection are good things
🏡 Lewis Needs:
A fenced yard (small is fine) – he’s not ready for open spaces yet
A friendly, confident dog in the home to guide him is a MUST
A calm, experienced home (prior experience with shy, unsocialized, or hoarded dogs is a big plus)
Someone who understands progress will be slow but incredibly rewarding

We require potential adopters to fill out an Adoption Application.When that is approved we can arrange for the prospective adopter to meet the dog they are interested in. We do require an adoption contract to be signed at time of adoption. We have a virtual home-check process (don't forget to submit photos of the exterior of your home!) Adoption fees range depending on the age of the dog. We do have dogs located at qualified fosters throughout the state and also out of state.

We are a small, foster-based rescue organization located in Southwest Florida. Being small helps us give more one-on-one attention to individual dogs and their needs. Rescued dogs are kept in our homes and treated as our own. Herding dogs are unique. They are highly intelligent and require much of the owner’s attention. The dogs are evaluated, when they come into the rescue, for any temperament and health issues. Then they are given basic obedience, socialization and rehabilitation as it is necessary.
It is our sole purpose to find forever homes for these loving, wonderful dogs that have been discarded through no fault of their own. All adopted dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, micro-chipped, and on flea and heartworm preventative.
