My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*** Mingi is in our PetSmart Aero adoption center. ***

Mingi #19934: beige/brown Siamese mix, short hair, neut. male, born approx. 9/30/21

Cats: good solo or non-dominant cat
Dogs: unknown
Children: past toddler

BACKGROUND: Mingi was brought to a vet office for care but then abandoned there when he tested positive for FIV (he was not neutered when he was found and had likely been in some fights as he has some visible scars on his face). The vet reached out to The Rescue House to ask if we could help this loving boy find a loving home.

PERSONALITY: Mingi is a social kitty who is very friendly! He loves to be petted and will give you plenty of head butts to encourage the petting session to keep going… in fact, he likes to rub his face against yours, aww. Ear scratches are also welcome and he will verbally tell you how happy he is with a loud rumbly purr. Mingi will let you carry him like a baby for brief periods of time though gets squirmy when he senses you’re about to put him down. He enjoys plenty of playtime and particularly likes it when you bring out a wand toy.

COMPATIBILITY: Mingi is great with younger kittens and adolescents, though for adult cats he would need to live with a non-dominant one. He is very people-focused and can get jealous if another cat has your attention and would also do well solo… so he can have you all to himself! We don’t know his thoughts on dogs. Given how friendly Mingi is, we think he’d do well with respectful children past the toddler age.

Will Mingi bring a whole lotta love to your family?

While healthy, Mingi has tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). This is a type of virus that typically causes some weakening of a cat’s immune system. It is a cat-only virus and cannot be spread through casual friendly contact between cats. FIV+ cats can and do live quite normal lives in quality, duration, and happiness. A good informative website is FIVCats.com.
