My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gospel — The Sleek Little Detective With a Heart of Gold 🕵️‍♂️✨
Gospel is the kitten who notices everything. Friendly, confident, and endlessly curious, he’s always one of the first to greet new visitors and investigate anything that dares to move. Shoestring? Suspicious. Phone stylus? Highly questionable. Fingers wiggling? Case officially open.

This sleek little sleuth takes his job very seriously — pouncing, inspecting, and conducting tiny, toothy interrogations as he uncovers the truth behind every “Mysterious Moving Object.” It’s all part of his ongoing paw-suit of justice (and fun).

But even the sharpest detective needs a partner. Gospel is looking for a forever home full of love, warmth, and a few mysteries waiting to be solved — like the baffling disappearance of toy mice under the couch.

If you want a kitten who brings laughter, affection, and investigative flair to your home, Gospel is ready to crack cases and capture hearts. 💛An adoption application can be filled out on the DHS website https://www.dekalbhumanesociety.org/adopt. Dog adoption fees are $200.00 for all puppies and adult dogs. Seniors are a donation of choice.

More about this shelter

At DeKalb Humane Society, we are passionate about finding forever homes for the pets in our care. Whether they are cats, dogs, or other furry friends, our mission is to provide them with a loving and nurturing environment.

We also believe in the importance of education about responsible pet ownership. We strive to educate our community about pet welfare, the benefits of spaying/neutering, and the prevention of animal abuse and neglect.

By adopting a pet from us, you are not only gaining a lifetime companion, but you are also contributing to our cause and helping us raise awareness. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of these innocent animals.

The DeKalb Humane Society filed for our Certificate of Incorporation on December 23, 1975 and we were granted 501(c)3 status in March of 1976. We are committed to being a no-kill shelter and serving the DeKalb County area.
