My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ADORABLE & SWEET:  Approx. 4 years old / Approx. 31 lbs.

Hi there, I’m Hopper!  I joined the Mostly Mutts family from animal control and I’m grateful for that and excited to find a new family to love and have fun with, perhaps you?

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met some other dogs at Mostly Mutts  and didn’t care for the male dogs but was interested in meeting the female dogs though I wasn’t ready to play just yet, so if you have a nice female dog, let’s meet and see if we can be pals. / Cats unknown. / I met some young kids in my temp. foster home and did well with them, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I may be a little hesitant at first, but once I warm up, you’ll see what a total sweetheart I am!  I’m a gentle, loving, and friendly boy who just wants to be close to my people.  I did great for my bath once I realized the sprayer wasn’t so scary — especially when it came to the massage part!  Everyone says I’m super sweet, chill, and smart, with a playful side, too.  I’ve even got some unique rear dew claws that make me extra special.  My temp. foster said I am calm and relaxed for the most part, but I can get some pretty big zoomies suddenly – surprise!  So just know that about me . . . and maybe no fall-risk family members.  I hear I’m adorable in pictures — but even cuter in person!  / Energy Level: 4-6 at the shelter but was much higher in the temp. foster home at 6-8.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I'm in the Mostly Mutts University training program and have already mastered the ‘sit’ command and I look forward to learning lots more.  / I’m doing well in my crate at Mostly Mutts as well as in the temp. foster homes I have visited. / I’ve only had a few accidents on the shelter schedule and only had one accident in one temp. foster home I visited and a couple in another, so hopefully I’ll do well in my new home once I learn the routine.

• LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love to play and have fun, especially when it means spending time with people!  Getting attention and love makes me a happy guy!  I enjoyed some longer (3-mile) hikes that my temp. foster took me on.  I also love playing in the yard and chewing on soft toys on the couch.  I ride well in the car, lying down and relaxing.  I’m sure we’ll find lots of other things we’ll enjoy together. / I was a bit afraid of eating out of a metal bowl, so at the shelter a plate works better for me.  I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.

• MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.

I’m a wonderful dog looking for a wonderful family to love and be loved by!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process

Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following:

Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility. With an approved application we can set up meet & greets and adoptions with a pet in foster care.
We are not yet up to full ‘staffing’ following the pandemic, so there may be times when we cannot do meet & greets or process an application on the spot.
The best first step is to submit an application via www.mostlymutts.org.
Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!

Adoption Info:
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets. We are receiving a large volume of applications and processing may take a little bit longer than normal. We are grateful for your interest, and an adoption counselor will be in touch as quickly as possible. Please give us 48 hours to respond before sending a follow-up email.

Don’t see a dog or cat for you on the website? Submit the application anyway!! We are taking in a large number of dogs and cats weekly. Due to the overwhelming demand, many are matched with approved applicants prior to being posted online. Our adoption counselors will be happy to help make a great match for you and your family.

Thank you for your patience and support!

Who We Are:

Mostly Mutts is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization, staffed almost entirely by volunteers!

Our Mission is to help the Unwanted, Abandoned, Abused and Sick animals in our local counties. We fulfill this mission by working closely with County Animal Control Facilities, saving those who are in imminent danger of euthanasia, or those with needs which require specialized vet care that many other groups will not consider: major orthopedic issues, heartworm positive treatment, skin conditions, neglect and abuse

Please visit our website, www.mostlymutts.org for additional information about adopting a new best friend!
