Meet Marmalade (aka Marmy)! Marmalade is a gentle, easy-going sweetheart who loves being near his person — often lying close by while you work. He’s a big boy with an even bigger heart, full of affection and charm.

This funny guy has lots of quirks that make him extra endearing. Scratch his lower back and he’ll start licking himself in delight. Bring out a bowl of food (especially wet food!) and you’ll hear his adorable squeaks of excitement. And if you catch him mid-groom, you might even see him pause with one leg still in the air — classic Marmy!

Not much is known about his past, other than that he was likely abandoned or surrendered. What we do know is that he’s incredibly loving and gentle. Marmy has never hissed or growled — not at his foster family or his feline foster brother.

Because he’s on the larger side, Marmalade does need a little extra care. He appreciates help with grooming, especially on his lower back, and he adores being brushed (expect loud purrs of approval!). He also benefits from occasional help cleaning his bottom after using the litter box — a soft wet wipe does the trick.

Marmy will need support on his weight-loss journey and some patience as he settles into a new environment — he may be shy or lose his appetite at first. Once comfortable, his love for food (and sometimes his roommates’ food!) comes roaring back, so mealtime monitoring is a must.
