My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

“S’mores is the BEST snuggler I’ve ever had. If someone wants a friend for their dog and a couch potato with people—she is it!” (says her foster, see pic!)

Meet S’mores, a gentle soul with a heart of gold. This sweet girl may not love big events, but she absolutely thrives at home. Her happy place? Curled up on the couch next to her favorite humans or romping around the yard with her dog friends.

S’mores needs a little time to settle into new surroundings—she may lay low under the bed and watch quietly until she feels safe. Giving her space, letting her come to you, and avoiding too much direct eye contact at first are key to earning her trust. But once she’s in, she’s all in. You’ll have a loyal, affectionate shadow who loves to snuggle and be part of the pack.

She is housebroken, crate trained and walks on a leash pretty well. She’s incredible with other dogs—playful, respectful, and great with all sizes and personalities. We’re looking for a home with at least one other dog to help her adjust and show her the ropes. She will need a home with no cats.

S’mores currently lives with older kids and does great with them. Due to her shy nature, she’s best suited for a calmer home without young children.

After spending the first year of her life with little human interaction, S’mores has blossomed in foster care. Now, she’s ready for a forever home that will be patient, kind, and full of love. She deserves nothing less.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Thank you for adopting and not buying!!! Every week hundreds of highly adoptabledogs are put to death by local shelters. Most people would be amazed at the purebred and beautiful dogs available, if they walked into their neighborhood shelter.

Rescue organizations, like mine, work hard to save as many as we possibly can but is a never ending process with breeders and Puppy Mills selling unhealthy animals to the public. If you EVER saw a puppy mill you would NEVER buy again!

All of my dogs are neutered or spayed, vet checked, completely vaccinated, wormed, groomed and checked for heart worms. They are all are current on Heart worm medicine, flea, and tick medications. They are all microchipped as well.

Adoption fee is $300 to $350 (older "friends' can be less, please inquire. Puppies are $350 - Besides fully vetting all dogs, some of of the dogs I rescue, 1 in 5 I rescue have heart worms which is very expensive to treat. I also take in dogs who need surgeries and are close to death.

More about this rescue

About us: Cody was the first pet I owned as an adult. He was a Shih Tzu that I bought unknowingly, from a Puppy Mill. He fought for his life and barely survived, suffering for the first few months of his life. From then on I was stirred by a ferocious passion to save as many dogs as I could through networking with other rescue groups and saving the ones I could off of cold streets and unwanted in shelters. Cody did not live a very long life due to a weakened body, but I was able to love on him for eight good years! He will always be loved and forever remembered. With over 400 dogs rescued so far, we ARE making a difference!!
Thank you for visiting and considering a rescue........................
