My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**MY ADOPTION FEE HAS BEEN SPONSORED BY A GENEROUS DONOR**

Hi, my name is Joe Jonas!

From: Washoe County Regional Animal Services
Description: No bandmates. No backup singers. Just frontman energy! Meet Joe Jonas, a curious, fun-loving guy with a big personality and an even bigger zest for life. He’s always been a Jonas, but once you meet him, you’ll understand why this name fits. He has that unmistakable Joe Jonas energy. Expressive, vibrant, and full of charm in his own unique way. Joe loves to explore and take in the world around him, stopping to investigate every interesting smell and sound along the way. He’s the kind of dog who truly enjoys the moment, whether he’s wandering the yard, heading out for a walk, or happily entertaining himself nearby. His energy isn’t about chaos. It’s about curiosity and joy. Joe recently attended a busy adoption event and handled it beautifully. He was comfortable around other dogs, respectful around toys, and content doing his own thing even in a lively environment. He doesn’t need to be the center of attention to shine, but his personality naturally draws people in. He would do well with a confident, playful dog sibling or as a solo act in a home that appreciates an independent, spirited companion. Joe is still working on polishing his leash skills and manners, and he thrives with structure, consistency, and positive guidance. If you’re looking for a dog with star power, heart, and a spark that makes everyday life a little more fun, Joe Jonas is ready to meet his people. Come meet him and see for yourself... No backstage access required!
Dog Compatibility: I would do best with playful, neutral, and tolerant dogs. Let’s meet!
Cat Compatibility: History Unknown; Slow introductions recommended!
Child Compatibility: History Unknown; I can meet kids 12+!
Housing Needs: None.

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

We have events througout the year to highlight our adoptable animals. One favorite event each year is our local public swimming pool closes to the public in the fall and the very last day the pool is open only to dogs in the community. Shelter dogs play, splash and mingle with public dogs in two pools and cool off for the final hot days of the summer.

We post our events on our website and Facebook and through other various media outlets.

More about this rescue

The mission of the SPCANN is to be an innovative regional leader in responsible treatment of homeless cats and dogs, primarily through their rescue and placement in forever loving homes, and by promoting spaying and neutering to control pet overpopulation. We accomplish our mission with dedication to our core values and a lifetime commitment to our animals.

We are Reno's first no-kill animal shelter, founded in 1998. Each year our shelter develops more progressive programs such as our Rural Rescue Program where we aggressively rescue animals from rural animal control agencies and support their joint efforts to move animals out of their facilities and into ours to avoid euthanasia. We also have expanded our reach into schools with our Humane Initiative Program where we teach and show compassion to animals. We have more programs and many projects on the horizon - visit our website to see more!!!
