My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Breed: Mixed Breed
Age: 5 years old
Gender: Female
Weight: 47 lbs

She’s a 5-year-old, 47 lb mixed breed with the kindest soul and the most loving eyes. When Rose’s owner surrendered her to the shelter, it was out of love—not neglect. Her person had fallen into poor health and could no longer care for themselves, let alone their beloved companion. By the time Rose arrived, her skin had deteriorated, leaving her covered in painful crust and lesions. Now, Rose is safe in our care and already beginning to heal. Despite everything she’s been through, she’s an absolute angel—gentle, trusting, and full of quiet sweetness. She loves sitting by your side, soaking up pets and connection, and gazing at you with eyes that seem to hold a lifetime of gratitude. Rose is currently a low-energy girl and, as she begins her path to speedy recovery, we’re already seeing more of her bubbly joy every day. She’s done well coexisting with other dogs and would do well in a calm, loving home that wants to give her all the comfort and love she’s known. If you’re looking for a deeply soulful companion who will remind you what unconditional love looks like, Rose is waiting to meet you.

More about this shelter

Wags and Walks is a community of dog lovers working to promote shelter dogs as the best dogs in the world through advocacy of our unique family-friendly foster and adoption programs.

Wags and Walks is focused on advocating for wrongfully stereotyped bully breeds, medical dogs, and mamas + puppies that are often overlooked and at-risk due to overcrowding. We do not select dogs based on their size, age, or breed. We select our dogs on a case-by-case basis, factoring in our ability to help and their likelihood of thriving when placed in the right home.

We know that, like amazing dogs, loving families come in all shapes and sizes. Our goal is to find every pup an adopter whose home, family, and lifestyle are a perfect fit for a lifetime of love and happiness.
